DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare research reports/presentations summarizing findings from independent research.
  • Support the Company’s issuing house business by leveraging industry knowledge and networks.
  • Researching market trends, conducting surveys, analyzing data from competitors, and analyzing the business’s operations, expenditures, and customer retention to identify patterns of potential issues or improvements.
  • Using data analysis and interpretations to guide the decision-making of the business, develop pricing models, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Using statistical, economic, and data modeling techniques and tools to conduct general research into companies and sectors to understand the factors that influence companies’ prospects.
  • Understand rating advisory and listing requirements that may be necessary to facilitate the issuance of bonds in the Nigerian capital markets.
  • Coordinate the due diligence process for new clients and the securities issuance processes.
  • Obtain, read, and analyze research from research houses for possible research and investment ideas.
  • Develop financial models and projections to support investment decision-making.
  • Establish outperform, neutral, and underperform recommendations for covered stocks and communicate investment ideas and market updates to all relevant teams. Make, buy, sell, or hold suggestions and recommendations.
  • Participate in research, investment, asset allocation, and meetings, and share information regarding company and industry areas of coverage.
  • Work with other members of the team to identify and engage suitable external professionals to support the securities issuance process (other issuing houses, lawyers, consultants, stockbrokers, accountants, etc.)
  • Creation of financial models within a corporate finance setting
  • Gather and assess financial results. Prepare financial reporting deliverables and explain trends and business drivers. Uncover areas that are underperforming.
  • Prepare Investment Teasers, Information Memorandums, and Prospectuses relevant to specific transactions.

EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
  • 4 – 5 years of previous experience in a similar role
  • A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • Any relevant professional qualification (CFA, ACCA ICAN, or MBA is an added advantage)
