Inflation for September rose to 11.24%
Consumer Price Index for the month of September 2019 increased to 11.24%, while previous month inflation rate stood at 11.02%, the monthly change stood at 2%. The food sub-index of the consumer index increased to 13.51% compared to 13.17% posted in the previous month and the Core Inflation for the month of September stood at 8.94% as against 8.68% recorded for in the previous month of August. The sudden twist in the consumer price index trend compared with the previous month reported CPI has been attributed to the surge in food sub-index, given the presidential order on boarder closure, the multiplier effect lead to the upswing in food items that resulted in the increased inflation rate reported for the month of September.
UK parliament to debate Brexit deal on Monday: House of Commons leader
The United Kingdom, House of Commons will be voting on Monday, so as to consider the Prime Minister’s Brexit Deal presented to the European Union late last week, which was also laid in the House of Common for ratification on Saturday however the parliament opted for a proposal to withhold support for the Prime Minister Brexit deal until a formal legislation approval is passed by the parliament.
